PA of the Year and PA Team of the Year Awards

NLCBF held the PA of the Year awards as part of the PA Celebration Event.  The event takes place each year to celebrate the contribution of Personal Advisers in supporting young people aged 16-25 who are leaving care.  We would like to offer a huge Congratulations to everyone who was nominated, the judges had an extremely difficult job choosing winners & runners up.

Congratulations to Wolverhampton (pictured above) for winning PA Team of the Year!  Their nomination included feedback from other members of the team and comments from young people they support including:

“My PA has been exceptionally helpful with my life.  They were always there when I needed them with university applications, getting to and from my university accommodation…. They also fully supported me when it came to moving and living in Madrid, allowing me to study abroad with peace of mind and confidence, that I could fully embrace every opportunity that came my way.”

Claire Salisbury from Wolverhampton awarded Runner up – PA of the Year

Congratulations Claire – one of the young people who Claire supports said:

“Claire has been my PA since I was 15 and 9 months old and I am now nearly 21.  Claire became my PA when I wasn’t in a good place…. Claire supported me to chair my own meetings and express my views to professionals, making me feel empowered…. Claire acts as sort of an auntie, she always seems to find the time for me.  She is talented, dedicated, strong-willed and will do anything she possibly can to support young people to achieve their dreams and is a stunning example of a corporate parent.”

We know that Personal Advisers offer life changing support to young people across the country and we hope that these awards will shine a light on the contributions that every Personal Adviser makes.  These awards were initiated three years ago by the Young People’s Benchmarking Forum who wanted to recognise the value of Personal Advisers.
